After visiting the North Wales Medical School at Bangor University, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy said:
“Firstly, I would like to thank Mr Chris Drew, Dr Huw Roberts (College Manager, College of Medicine and Health), Dr Liz Mason (Deputy Head, School of Health Sciences), and Dr Leah Taylor (Lecturer in Anatomy) for their kind welcome and for sharing their expertise with me.
“The School of Health Sciences is a brilliant institution that promotes excellence in medical, health, and social care sciences through research, teaching, and learning.
“Their anatomy lab was fascinating, and the vast array of medical specialities the university covers is incredible, alongside their extensive contributions to COVID-19 research. There was so much to learn and experience during the visit.
“I also appreciated the opportunity to discuss with them the incorporation of a dental school within the same programme. This will help ensure we support and produce the next generation of excellent dental surgeons.
“Bangor Medical School offers students a brilliant start to their medical careers and is a truly inspiring hub for vital medical research that strengthens our Welsh NHS.”
