Video footage showing the Royal Mail sorting office in Llandudno full of undelivered post has been shared with Janet Finch-Saunders MS/AS.

Whilst Mrs Finch-Saunders is not disclosing the video so to protect the identity of the whistleblower or whistleblowers, she has written to Royal Mail formally requesting an investigation into why letters do seem to be held back from delivery.

In addition to the video, Mrs Finch-Saunders has been approached by several constituents complaining about delayed deliveries, and knows first-hand that a letter she posted first class in Llandudno on 27 August, did not reach the recipient, also an address in Llandudno, until a week later: 3 September.

Commenting on the Royal Mail and the Llandudno sorting office, Janet said:

“I wish to commend the whistleblower or whistleblowers who have confirmed what so many of us are experiencing: serious delayed postal deliveries.

“Staff have disclosed to me that hospital appointment letters can stay in the frames for days; a direction has been given to postmen to manage mail and make sure parcels are delivered as a priority; parcels are being taken out for delivery whilst letters are being left in the sorting office; and some delivery rounds have been made so big that it is difficult to always deliver.

“Constituents are even being told that they can go to the sorting office to collect their post, but why isn’t it being delivered?!

“Posties have served our community admirably for decades. Royal Mail executives should hold their heads in shame for the fact that frontline staff and customer satisfaction are now being so seriously undermined by what appear to be new ways of operating.

“An investigation is required into the management of Llandudno sorting office. The standard of service just isn’t good enough”.

ENDS

Mae fideo sy'n dangos swyddfa ddidoli’r Post Brenhinol yn Llandudno yn llawn post heb ei ddosbarthu wedi'i rannu gyda Janet Finch-Saunders AS.

Er nad yw Mrs Finch-Saunders yn datgelu'r fideo er mwyn diogelu hunaniaeth y chwythwr neu’r chwythwyr chwiban, mae hi wedi ysgrifennu at y Post Brenhinol yn gofyn am ymchwiliad ffurfiol i egluro pam mae llythyrau fel pe baen nhw’n  cael eu cadw’n ôl rhag cael eu dosbarthu.

Yn ogystal â'r fideo, mae sawl etholwr wedi cysylltu â Mrs Finch-Saunders yn cwyno am yr oedi cyn dosbarthu eu post, ac mae'n gwybod na wnaeth llythyr a bostiodd ddosbarth cyntaf yn Llandudno ar 27 Awst gyrraedd y derbyniwr, sydd hefyd yn gyfeiriad yn Llandudno, tan wythnos yn ddiweddarach ar 3 Medi.

Wrth sôn am y Post Brenhinol a swyddfa ddidoli Llandudno, dywedodd Janet:

"Hoffwn ganmol y chwythwr neu'r chwythwyr chwiban sydd wedi cadarnhau'r hyn mae cymaint ohonom ni’n ei brofi, sef yr oedi difrifol cyn dosbarthu’r post.

"Mae staff wedi datgelu i mi y gall llythyrau apwyntiad ysbyty aros yn y fframiau am ddiwrnodau; y rhoddwyd cyfarwyddyd i staff reoli’r post a gwneud yn siŵr bod parseli’n cael eu dosbarthu fel blaenoriaeth; bod parseli’n cael eu dosbarthu tra bod llythyrau'n cael eu gadael yn y swyddfa ddidoli; a bod rhai rowndiau dosbarthu mor fawr bellach fel ei bod yn anodd eu cyflawni bob amser.

"Mae etholwyr hyd yn oed yn cael gwybod y gallan nhw fynd i'r swyddfa ddidoli i gasglu eu post, ond pam nad yw'n cael ei ddosbarthu?!

"Mae staff y post wedi gwasanaethu ein cymuned yn wych ers degawdau. Dylai swyddogion gweithredol y Post Brenhinol fod â chywilydd am y ffaith bod staff rheng flaen a boddhad cwsmeriaid bellach yn cael eu tanseilio mor ddifrifol gan ffyrdd newydd o weithredu.

"Mae angen ymchwiliad i reolwyr swyddfa ddidoli Llandudno. Nid yw safon y gwasanaeth yn ddigon da".
