With Station Road, Deganwy, closed to all traffic between 2 September 2025 and 21 November 2025, Arriva Wales have diverted all bus services via Llanrhos.
The bus services affected are 5D, 13, 15, and 24.
During the closure, the above services will divert via the 14 route (Glan-y-Môr Road - (Via Llanrhos) - Maesdu Avenue) in both directions. All stops along the diversion route will continue to be served.
Wales & West advised Janet Finch-Saunders MS/AS that they had not received confirmation from Arriva Buses as to what would be happening to their services by the point that she raised urgent concerns about lack of clarity on the afternoon of 1 September 2025.
Commenting on the gas works, Janet said:
“Whilst I understand that the gas works are essential, there is no excuse for Arriva Buses cutting Deganwy off from bus services.
“Central Deganwy has an older population, many of whom rely on bus services to attend hospital appointments and for daily life.
“Bearing in mind that executive offices in Arriva had not made arrangements for diverting services until the night before the road closure commenced, it appears to me that little consideration has been given to the impact on and needs of residents.
“Urgent consideration needs to be given to providing shuttle services to transport public transport users from central Deganwy to the buses running along the diversion route”.

Wrth sôn am y gwaith nwy, dywedodd Janet:
"Er fy mod i’n deall bod y gwaith nwy yn hanfodol, does dim esgus i Arriva dorri’r gwasanaeth i ganol Deganwy.
"Mae llawer o bobl hŷn yn byw yng nghanol Deganwy, ac mae llawer ohonyn nhw’n dibynnu ar wasanaethau bws i fynd i apwyntiadau ysbyty ac ar gyfer bywyd bob dydd.
"Gan gofio nad oedd swyddogion gweithredol Arriva wedi gwneud trefniadau ar gyfer dargyfeirio gwasanaethau tan y noson cyn i'r ffordd gau, mae'n ymddangos i mi na roddwyd llawer o ystyriaeth i’r effaith ar drigolion a’u hanghenion.
"Mae angen mynd ati ar unwaith i ystyried darparu gwasanaethau gwennol i gludo defnyddwyr trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus o ganol Deganwy i'r bysiau sy'n rhedeg ar hyd llwybr y gwyriad".
