Janufire, a handmade jewellery and crafts store, opened at 23 Madoc Street on 30th June. The store, owned by Wendy Barnes, not only sells beautiful jewellery and crafts but also places a strong emphasis on promoting community engagement and mental health benefits.

On Tuesday, Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, visited Janufire. During her visit, she learned about the store’s background and had the opportunity to explore its wonderful variety of intricate gifts, including earrings, bracelets, dreamcatchers, and wind chimes.

Commenting on her visit to Janufire, Janet said:

“I would like to thank Wendy for the warm welcome to Janufire this week. I thoroughly enjoyed viewing all of the incredible jewellery and crafts that they have to offer.

“The workshops and the focus on promoting community and mental health benefits, led by Wendy, are vitally important. It is through raising awareness of these issues that real change and support can take place.

“It was also wonderful to learn about the different opportunities that Janufire has created for local people. For example, encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit in young people helps them to develop business skills they can use in the future. Additionally, the crafting groups enable people to come together and bond over shared creative activities.

“I wish Wendy all the best for the future and highly recommend that lovers of crafting and handmade items visit Janufire.”
