Having attended the Llandudno Christmas Tree Festival at St John’s Methodist Church on Mostyn Street, which included a display of trees from local schools and community groups in aid of St David’s Hospice, Janet Finch-Saunders MS has praised the ‘innovative and festive displays of goodwill.’ The fundraising initiative was held between Monday 13 December 2021 and Saturday 18 December 2021.

Praising the fundraising efforts, Janet said:

“While Christmas is usually such a happy and joyful time for many, it can also be a deeply isolating period. These innovative and festive displays of goodwill, both in Conwy and Llandudno, are a most welcome addition to the Christmas event calendar that have helped to bring the community together.

“I was most delighted to have been invited to view the wonderful display of trees at St John’s Methodist Church. These decorated delights showed such creativity and selflessness, with local residents, businesses, and schools all donating to the most worthwhile cause that is St David's Hospice.

“The engagement with these Christmas fundraising festivals is a shining example of the kindnesses, dedication and generosity of the people of North Wales. The continual community support for this outstanding organisation is a testament to its impact on our society and the ongoing, quality service that they provide.”

An earlier scheduled event was also held in Conwy, in association with Daisy Chain Floral Design, St Mary’s Church and supported by the Conwy Valley and North West Wales Coast Rail Partnership. The Conwy-based festival raised £1300 in total for the local palliative care charity.
