Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, who is working with Cllr. Ian Turner and other concerned local residents to help see sand restored to North Shore beach, Llandudno, is urging residents and visitors to sign the Welsh Parliament petition created by Cllr Turner.

The petition calls for the Welsh Government to fund the removal of quarry rocks and the restoration of sand and groynes to Llandudno North Shore.

Already, over 600 people have signed the online petition. Whilst all petitions with more than 250 signatures will be discussed by the Petitions Committee, 10,000 are needed for the petition to be considered for a debate in the Welsh Parliament.

You can sign the petition here.

Commenting on the petition, Janet said:

“Now that Plaid Cymru and Welsh Labour are co-operating at Conwy Cabinet level and Welsh Government, they have a key opportunity to put the disaster they have created on our beach right.

“I applaud Cllr Ian Turner and all in our community who are working to help save our beach, and challenge the Welsh Government refusal to use the flood and coastal erosion budget to fund the restoration of sand.

“If you want to see those horrible boulders removed from our beach please sign the petition.”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod Senedd Cymru dros Aberconwy, yn cydweithio â'r Cynghorydd Ian Turner a thrigolion pryderus lleol eraill er mwyn helpu i adfer y tywod ar Draeth y Gogledd, Llandudno. Mae’n annog trigolion ac ymwelwyr i arwyddo deiseb i Senedd Cymru a grëwyd gan y Cynghorydd Turner.

Mae’r ddeiseb yn galw ar Lywodraeth Cymru i ariannu’r gwaith o symud y creigiau o’r traeth ac adfer tywod a’r argorau ar Draeth y Gogledd, Llandudno.

Eisoes, mae dros 600 o bobl wedi arwyddo'r ddeiseb ar-lein. Bydd pob deiseb sydd â thros 250 o lofnodion yn cael ei thrafod gan y Pwyllgor Deisebau, ond mae angen 10,000 er mwyn i'r ddeiseb gael ei hystyried ar gyfer dadl ar lawr y Senedd.

Gallwch arwyddo'r ddeiseb yma.

Wrth sôn am y ddeiseb, dywedodd Janet:

"Gan fod Plaid Cymru a Llafur Cymru yn cydweithredu ar lefel Cabinet Conwy a Llywodraeth Cymru, mae ganddyn nhw gyfle allweddol i gywiro'r trychineb maen nhw wedi'i greu ar ein traeth.

"Rwyf am ganmol y Cynghorydd Ian Tuner a phawb yn ein cymuned sy'n gweithio i helpu i achub ein traeth, ac yn herio Llywodraeth Cymru i ddefnyddio'r gyllideb llifogydd ac erydu arfordirol i ariannu'r gwaith o adfer y traeth tywod.

"Os hoffech weld y clogfeini erchyll yn cael eu symud o'n traeth, arwyddwch y ddeiseb, os gwelwch yn dda. "
