Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy was thrilled to see so many supporters yesterday for our Farmers here in Wales.

Wednesday’s display of solidarity was one of the biggest ever seen on the steps of the Senedd. People of all ages and background came together to voice their objection to the Welsh Governments obscene Sustainable Farming Scheme, which would see farmers forced to give up 10% of their land for tree planting in return for subsidies.

The crowd was loud and proud and Janet took the opportunity to discuss with the supporters their woes and plights, and what she was doing to try to get the scheme abolished all together.

Commenting on the day’s excitement, Janet said:

“We will stand by our farmers no matter what. Welsh Conservatives are a party of farmers and we will try all in our power to get this farcical scheme thrown in the mud where it belongs.

“I was overwhelmed by the amount of support their was yesterday. Children, families, friends and farmers all in it together to give the Welsh Government one simple message – enough is enough.

“For too long Welsh Labour propped up by Plaid Cymru have forgotten that they represent the people of Wales, not some grant idea or ideology. They need to step up and listen to what the people are saying."

Roedd Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wrth ei bodd yn gweld cymaint o gefnogwyr ddoe i'n Ffermwyr yma yng Nghymru.

Roedd yr undod a welwyd ddydd Mercher yn un o'r mwyaf a welwyd erioed ar risiau'r Senedd. Daeth pobl o bob oed a chefndir ynghyd i leisio eu gwrthwynebiad i Gynllun Ffermio Cynaliadwy cywilyddus Llywodraeth Cymru, a fyddai'n gweld ffermwyr yn cael eu gorfodi i ildio 10% o'u tir ar gyfer plannu coed yn gyfnewid am gymorthdaliadau.

Roedd y dorf yn uchel eu cloch ac yn protestio gyda balchder a manteisiodd Janet ar y cyfle i drafod y gofidiau ac ofnau gyda'r cefnogwyr, a'r hyn yr oedd hi'n ei wneud i geisio cael gwared â'r cynllun yn llwyr

Wrth sôn am gyffro'r diwrnod, dywedodd Janet:

“Fe fyddwn i'n sefyll wrth ymyl ein ffermwyr ni waeth beth. Mae'r Ceidwadwyr Cymreig yn blaid sy’n cefnogi ffermwyr a byddwn ni'n ceisio gwneud popeth yn ein gallu i gael rhoi'r cynllun hurt hwn yn y domen sbwriel lle dylai fod.

“Roedd yn braf gweld faint o gefnogaeth oedd ganddyn nhw ddoe. Mae plant, teuluoedd, ffrindiau a ffermwyr i gyd yn rhan o'r ymgyrch hon er mwyn rhoi un neges syml i Lywodraeth Cymru - digon yw digon.

“Ers gormod o amser mae Llafur Cymru wedi cael cefnogaeth gan Plaid Cymru ac maen nhw wedi anghofio eu bod yn cynrychioli pobl Cymru, nid rhyw syniad neu ideoleg fawreddog. Mae angen iddyn nhw gamu i fyny a gwrando ar yr hyn y mae'r bobl yn ei ddweud.
