Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Bangor Conwy Môn, was delighted to attend the grand opening of Lôn yr Adar, the new walking and cycling path from Llandudno Junction to Glan Conwy.
This path, which took 22 years to come to fruition, will enable cyclists, pedestrians, pushchair and wheelchair users to travel safely between the two areas.
Janet commented:
“It was a pleasure to attend the official opening of Lôn yr Adar. This is a wonderful example of civil engineering. I would like to thank Andrew Wilkinson and the team, as well as Jennings, for their brilliant work.
“When I first started working on this project as a Cabinet Member on Conwy County Borough Council in 2004, I was told it could never be done. I have never taken no for an answer and have been proud to work hard with my office team, coordinating meetings with all relevant stakeholders very regularly over many years.
“I am grateful that Andrew and his team were given the freedom to pursue this grant funding, of which £18 million came from the former Conservative UK Government.
“The opening was a wonderful event, and I would like to thank everyone who was involved in putting it together.”
