Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Senedd for Bangor, Conwy and Môn, is encouraging constituents to sign up to the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s Text Reminder Service.
This will enable people to receive all of the details about the appointment that they need, including appointment type, date, time, location and department. This will ensure that people do not miss their appointments, due to delays in post delivery.
With many patients already facing long waits for treatment or their first appointment, it is vital that people receive their appointment details as quickly and reliably as possible. This will also provide greater reassurance and reducing the stress that many constituents are facing.
Janet commented:
“Many of my constituents have contacted me after missing appointments because the letter confirming their appointment did not arrive in time. When people have already waited so long to receive treatment, it is incredibly frustrating and stressful to then miss an appointment because of a delay in the post.
“ I strongly encourage constituents to sign up to this service, which is a simple way of making sure they have their appointment details immediately and can access them whenever they need them. This could help remove some of the unnecessary stress people are already feeling while waiting for an appointment or treatment.”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Fangor Conwy Môn, yn annog etholwyr i gofrestru i Wasanaeth Negeseuon Testun Atgoffa Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr.
Bydd hyn yn galluogi pobl i dderbyn yr holl fanylion am yr apwyntiad sydd eu hangen arnyn nhw, gan gynnwys y math o apwyntiad, dyddiad, amser, lleoliad ac adran. Bydd hyn yn sicrhau nad yw pobl yn colli eu hapwyntiadau, oherwydd oedi yn y gwasanaeth post.
Gyda llawer o gleifion eisoes yn aros yn hir am driniaeth neu eu hapwyntiad cyntaf, mae’n hanfodol bod pobl yn cael manylion eu hapwyntiad mor gyflym a dibynadwy â phosibl. Bydd hyn hefyd yn rhoi mwy o sicrwydd ac yn lleihau’r straen y mae llawer o etholwyr yn ei wynebu.
Meddai Janet:
“Mae llawer o’m hetholwyr wedi cysylltu â mi ar ôl colli apwyntiadau oherwydd nad oedd y llythyr yn cadarnhau eu hapwyntiad wedi cyrraedd mewn pryd. Pan fydd pobl eisoes wedi aros mor hir i dderbyn triniaeth, mae’n hynod rhwystredig a gofidus wedyn colli apwyntiad oherwydd oedi yn y post.
“Rwy’n annog etholwyr yn gryf i gofrestru ar gyfer y gwasanaeth hwn. Mae’n ffordd syml o wneud yn siŵr eu bod yn cael eu manylion apwyntiad ar unwaith ac yn gallu cyfeirio atyn nhw pryd bynnag sydd angen. Gallai hyn helpu i gael gwared ar rywfaint o’r straen diangen y mae pobl eisoes yn ei deimlo wrth aros am apwyntiad neu driniaeth.”
