Following a series of closures of the Menai Bridge, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, has called a public meeting that will take place this Friday, to discuss the issues of the crossings, and to call for cross-party support for a third Menai Bridge, which Janet has continuously championed in the Senedd chamber.
Elected Officials, from across the political spectrum and Parliaments, have agreed to attend. Including Claire Hughes MP, Llinos Medi MP, Helen Jenner MS, and Mair Rowlands MS.
Since, the maintenance works began over four years ago, Janet has frequently raised the issues posed by the closures of the bridge, that impacted the then constituency of Aberconwy, and affects the whole of North Wales, and transport links to Ireland, and the whole of Bangor Conwy Môn.
Janet commented:
“The Menai crossings are vital to local communities, businesses and the wider North Wales economy, and it is important that we work together to address the ongoing issues people are facing.
“For too long we have seen the damage and congestion, the closures of the crossings cause. A long term plan needs to urgently be put in place.
“I am looking forward to welcoming residents, stakeholders, and other elected officials to the public meeting in Llangefni tomorrow night. “
The meeting will take place on Friday 12th June at Llangefni Town Hall, Bulkeley Square, Llangefni ,Anglesey ,LL77 7LR, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
