Janet Finch-Saunders MS has given praise to all involved in this year’s Eisteddfod yr Urdd 2026 on Ynys Môn, celebrating Welsh language, culture and young talent from across the country.
Thousands of visitors, competitors and families have travelled to the island for the event, providing a major boost for the local economy while showcasing the very best of Welsh culture and community spirit and land of song.
The event has also highlighted the importance of supporting opportunities for young people to take part in music, performance, literature and sport through the medium of Welsh.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Senedd Member for Bangor Conwy Môn said:
“Eisteddfod yr Urdd is one of the most important cultural events in Wales and it has been fantastic to see Ynys Môn hosting this year’s festival.
The event not only celebrates Welsh language and culture, but also gives young people incredible opportunities to develop confidence, skills and lifelong memories.
Huge credit must go to the organisers, volunteers, competitors and local communities who have worked so hard to make this year’s Eisteddfod yr Urdd such a success.”
