This week, Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, spoke about the failings of the Welsh Labour Government, propped up by Plaid Cymru, in relation to the Welsh NHS.

Following this, Janet commented:

“It is important to thank our vital doctors, nurses, cleaners, and essential NHS workers for the amazing job that they do, and for their service and dedication in providing the best standard of care possible.

“I often hear representations from them, as well as from patients and families, about the serious concerns of corridor care becoming the norm, the extensive waiting lists and times, and the additional strains being placed on them by the Welsh Labour Government’s failings in managing the NHS.

“Wales has the longest waiting times for treatment out of all four UK nations and a lack of hospital beds. I regularly hear of people waiting 48 or even 72 hours to be seen. This is causing people who need to go to A&E to refuse, as they are scared of the pain caused by the long waits.

“This is not good enough. Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru have let down the Welsh NHS, the Welsh public, and our brilliant Welsh NHS workers. It is due to their extensive failings that the Welsh Conservatives would immediately declare a health emergency and fix the Welsh NHS.”
