Following the installation of a temporary fix to the crossbeam, which allowed the Menai Bridge to reopen for traffic under 7.5 tonnes on 24 October, a permanent fix is expected to be installed early this year, subject to weather conditions.
These works will require some traffic management; however, no full road closures are planned.
Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, commented on the announcement:
“I appreciate the advanced notice of these works taking place on the bridge, and that temporary fixes were in place over the Christmas period, as this vital route on and off the island was important for people travelling to visit family and friends.
“While I am pleased that the works due to be undertaken will not require the bridge to be closed, I remain concerned about the impact this will have on traffic levels and congestion to and from Ynys Môn.
“I continue to call for work on a third Menai crossing to be undertaken to reduce the impact of repairs like this.”

Ar ôl gosod atgyweiriad dros dro i'r trawst, a ganiataodd i Bont y Borth ailagor ar gyfer traffig o dan 7.5 tunnell ar 24 Hydref, disgwylir i atgyweiriad parhaol gael ei osod yn gynnar eleni, yn amodol ar y tywydd.
Bydd angen rhai mesurau rheoli traffig ar y gwaith hwn, ond ni fwriedir cau ffyrdd cyfan.
Wrth sôn am y cyhoeddiad, dywedodd Janet Finch-Saunders, AS Aberconwy:
"Rwy'n gwerthfawrogi'r rhybudd ymlaen llaw o'r gwaith hwn ar y bont, a bod atgyweiriadau dros dro wedi bod ar waith dros gyfnod y Nadolig, gan fod y llwybr hanfodol hwn yn bwysig i bobl sy'n teithio i ymweld â theulu a ffrindiau.
"Er fy mod yn falch na fydd angen cau'r bont er mwyn cwblhau’r gwaith, rwy'n dal i boeni am yr effaith y bydd hyn yn ei chael ar lefelau traffig a thagfeydd rhwng Ynys Môn a’r tir mawr.
"Rwy'n parhau i alw am waith ar drydedd groesfan Menai i leihau effaith atgyweiriadau fel hyn."
