In 2024, Royal Mail saw over 188 million parcels sent during the Christmas period. With the number of people sending parcels via a courier expected to jump by 20% this year.

Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, visited the local Royal Mail sorting office in Llandudno. Following the visit, Janet commented:

“So many of us rely heavily on our local postmen and women throughout the year, especially during the lead-up to Christmas. Since December 1st, they have delivered 375,000 parcels and letters, all needing to arrive at their destinations quickly. This is a remarkable achievement, for which we are all grateful.

“Since coming into post in August, Rhian Simpson, the manager, has formed a brilliant team of 53 people who work tirelessly to ensure that we all have our important letters and parcels delivered in time for Christmas. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their efforts throughout 2025.

“The last date to send items by Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed is December 23rd for parcels to arrive before Christmas. However, the last date to send items via Second and First Class post has already passed. I wish all of the postmen and women, a merry Christmas, and thank you for all that you have done in 2025.”
