Calls for Action to end Corridor Care in Wales’s NHS / Galwadau i Weithredu i roi terfyn ar Ofal mewn Coridorau yn GIG Cymru

Yesterday, doctors and nurses gathered outside the Senedd to call for an end to corridor care in the NHS.

Members of both the BMA and RCN stood together in a united effort to highlight the urgent need to end this dangerous practice in Wales.

The demonstration coincided with a Senedd debate on the RCN’s petition, which urges immediate action to stop corridor care — a system that puts patients at risk and places unbearable pressure on already overstretched staff.

Janet commented:

“I was proud to stand alongside our doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals at the Senedd yesterday as they called for an end to corridor care. Their commitment to patient safety and their determination to speak out for a safer, fairer NHS is commendable, and they deserve our full support.

Seeing members of the BMA and RCN united in their message was powerful. Corridor care is unsafe for patients and deeply unfair on the hardworking staff who are already under immense pressure.

I will continue to support their calls for urgent action and will keep pressing for the changes our NHS desperately needs.”

Ddoe, daeth meddygon a nyrsys at ei gilydd y tu allan i'r Senedd i alw am roi diwedd ar ofal mewn coridorau yn y GIG.

Safodd aelodau o'r BMA a'r RCN gyda'i gilydd fel un i dynnu sylw at yr angen brys i roi terfyn ar yr arfer peryglus hwn yng Nghymru.

Roedd y brotest yn cyd-daro â dadl yn y Senedd ar ddeiseb yr RCN, sy'n annog gweithredu ar unwaith i atal gofal mewn coridorau - system sy'n rhoi cleifion mewn perygl ac yn rhoi straen annioddefol ar staff sydd eisoes dan bwysau enfawr.

Meddai Janet:

"Roeddwn i'n falch o sefyll ochr yn ochr â'n meddygon, nyrsys a gweithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol yn y Senedd ddoe wrth iddyn nhw alw am roi terfyn ar ofal mewn coridorau. Mae eu hymrwymiad i ddiogelwch cleifion a'u penderfyniad i siarad o blaid GIG mwy diogel a theg yn ganmoladwy, ac maen nhw’n haeddu ein cefnogaeth lawn.

Roedd gweld aelodau o'r BMA a'r RCN yn unedig yn eu neges yn bwerus. Mae gofal mewn coridorau yn anniogel i gleifion ac yn annheg iawn ar y staff gweithgar sydd eisoes o dan bwysau enfawr.

Byddaf yn dal ati i gefnogi eu galwadau am weithredu ar unwaith a byddaf yn parhau i bwyso am y newidiadau sydd eu hangen ar ein GIG."
