Following video footage showing the Royal Mail sorting office in Llandudno full of undelivered post being shared with Janet Finch-Saunders MS/AS, and her campaign highlighting seriously delayed deliveries, Royal Mail have publicly apologised and now have a new manager at the sorting office.
During a visit to the Llandudno sorting office on Friday (19 September 2025), Mrs Finch-Saunders met the new manager: Ms Rhian Simpson.
Commenting after the visit, Janet said:
“It shouldn’t have taken local posties whistleblowing to me so to tackle the serious delays to postal deliveries out of the Llandudno sorting office. However, the action and my subsequent campaign have delivered.
“In addition to formally apologising, the Royal Mail have a new manager in place.
“I congratulate Ms Simpson on her appointment and cannot express enough how impressed I was by her passion for the Royal Mail and ensuring that the sorting office operates as effectively as possible.
“Time will tell if the service remains at this improved standard, but for now, I have confidence that it will”.
