Work to upgrade more than 550 metres of gas pipes in the Station Road area of Deganwy is underway and is set to continue until 21st November. These works will result in phased closures of both Deganwy Road and Station Road.
However, it is important to note that Deganwy remains open for business. Local businesses are still open and need support during the gas pipe upgrade process.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, is encouraging people in the area to continue shopping at and visiting local businesses in Deganwy.
Commenting on the situation, Janet said:
“I was saddened to learn that businesses in Deganwy are already being negatively impacted by the utility works. Many people are confused by the signage, and some are not aware that the businesses remain open as usual.
“Most of the businesses in the area are small independent enterprises that rely heavily on regular footfall. In return, they make a significant contribution not only to the local economy but to the Welsh economy as a whole.
“It is vitally important that we continue to support them throughout this process, and afterwards, by shopping locally and visiting these businesses.”
