Last Saturday, Llanrwst hosted its annual Dafydd ap Siencyn Festival, celebrating the legendary history of the rebel, nobleman, and bard Dafydd ap Siencyn: the Welsh Robin Hood.

This fun-filled event, suitable for people of all ages, included Welsh medieval stories, live music, arts and crafts activities, archery, and so much more. It is truly a wonderful and unique festival that captures the pride of Llanrwst’s history and Welsh culture.

Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, praised the organisers for their hard work and dedication in running the festival.

Commenting on the Dafydd ap Siencyn Festival, Janet said:

“The annual Dafydd ap Siencyn Festival is a fantastic day out for people of all ages, with so much to offer, from acrobats on stilts and wonderful musical performances to medieval costumes and tales.

“It is a perfect opportunity for the residents of Llanrwst and the Conwy Valley to celebrate their legendary history, and for visitors to experience our wonderful local culture and traditions.

“I would like to thank the organisers for all their hard work in planning and ensuring the event is always a success. It is a true testament to the pride and spirit that the people of Llanrwst have for their area.”

Ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf, cynhaliodd Llanrwst ei Gŵyl Dafydd ap Siencyn flynyddol, yn dathlu hanes chwedlonol y gwrthryfelwr, yr uchelwr a'r bardd Dafydd ap Siencyn: y Robin Hood Cymreig.

Roedd y digwyddiad hwyliog hwn, sy'n addas i bobl o bob oedran, yn cynnwys straeon canoloesol o Gymru, cerddoriaeth fyw, gweithgareddau celf a chrefft, saethyddiaeth a llawer mwy. Mae'n ŵyl wirioneddol wych ac unigryw sy'n cyfleu balchder hanes Llanrwst a diwylliant Cymru.

Fe wnaeth Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, ganmol y trefnwyr am eu gwaith caled a'u hymroddiad wrth gynnal yr ŵyl.

Gan gyfeirio at Ŵyl Dafydd ap Siencyn, dywedodd Janet:

"Mae Gŵyl flynyddol Dafydd ap Siencyn yn ddiwrnod allan gwych i bobl o bob oedran, gyda chymaint i'w gynnig, o acrobatiaid ar stilts a pherfformiadau cerddorol gwych i wisgoedd a chwedlau canoloesol.

"Mae'n gyfle perffaith i drigolion Llanrwst a Dyffryn Conwy ddathlu eu hanes chwedlonol, ac i ymwelwyr brofi ein diwylliant a'n traddodiadau lleol gwych.

"Hoffwn ddiolch i'r trefnwyr am eu holl waith caled wrth gynllunio’r digwyddiad ac an sicrhau ei fod bob amser yn llwyddiant. Mae'n arwydd clir o'r balchder a'r cariad sydd gan bobl Llanrwst at eu hardal."
