Professor Codman’s Punch and Judy Show, which takes place along Llandudno’s historic promenade, is one of the longest-running shows in Britain, having been performed since 1860.

Jason, the current Professor Codman, is the fifth generation to perform the shows, using puppets that were handcrafted from driftwood found on the beach.

Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, had a delightful afternoon attending the show and watching how the audience, of all ages, engaged with the wonderful characters and stories.

Commenting on her visit to Professor Codman’s Punch and Judy Show, Janet said:

“I would like to extend my gratitude to Jason for the warm welcome, as well as for the amazing show that takes everyone back to the cherished memories of their childhood.

“The wonderful storytelling, the iconic characters, and the fantastic audience engagement are truly what make Professor Codman’s Punch and Judy Show the longest-running and most special show in Britain.

“It is a fantastic experience that people of all ages can thoroughly enjoy. For a fun and exciting activity this summer holiday, I highly recommend attending one of the performances held on our beautiful promenade.”

Mae Sioe Punch a Judy yr Athro Codman, sy'n cael ei chynnal ar hyd promenâd hanesyddol Llandudno, yn un o'r sioeau hiraf ym Mhrydain, ar ôl cael ei pherfformio ers 1860.

Jason, yr Athro Codman presennol, yw'r bumed genhedlaeth i berfformio'r sioeau, gan ddefnyddio pypedau a gafodd eu gwneud â llaw o froc môr a gesglir ar y traeth.

Cafodd Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, brynhawn hyfryd yn mynychu'r sioe a gwylio sut roedd y gynulleidfa, o bob oedran, yn ymgysylltu â'r cymeriadau a'r straeon gwych.

Wrth sôn am ei hymweliad â Punch and Judy Show yr Athro Codman, dywedodd Janet:

"Hoffwn ddiolch i Jason am y croeso cynnes, yn ogystal ag am y sioe anhygoel sy'n mynd â phawb yn ôl at atgofion annwyl eu plentyndod.

"Mae'r adrodd straeon gwych, y cymeriadau eiconig, a'r ymgysylltiad gwych â'r gynulleidfa sydd wirioneddol yn gwneud Punch and Judy Show yr Athro Codman y sioe hiraf a mwyaf arbennig ym Mhrydain.

"Mae'n brofiad gwych y gall pobl o bob oed ei fwynhau'n fawr. Ar gyfer gweithgaredd hwyliog a chyffrous y gwyliau haf hwn, rwy'n argymell yn gryf fynychu un o'r perfformiadau a gynhelir ar ein promenâd hardd."
