Responding to a letter about the Conwy Valley fflecsi service, the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, Ken Skates MS, confirmed that Transport for Wales has been asked to review the operation of the service and ensure that Conwy Valley communities are better served going forward.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, welcomed the announcement. Janet has long campaigned for improved public transport in North Wales and for the expansion of fflecsi services.
Responding to the letter from Janet Finch-Saunders, the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, Ken Skates, said:
“As the current contract comes to an end in November this year, we have asked Transport for Wales to work with the Council to review the operation of the service prior to any decisions being taken on re-tendering the service.”
Commenting on the possible expansion of the fflecsi bus area, Janet said:
“It is vital that the current fflecsi bus service area is protected and expanded. I have long campaigned for improved public transport services and access across Aberconwy and the whole of North Wales.
“These important services enable people in the Conwy Valley to travel with ease, to carry out their daily lives, as well as enabling visitors to travel around the Conwy Valley.
“I welcome the consideration of expanding the fflecsi bus area, and I strongly encourage Transport for Wales, the Corporate Joint Committee, and Conwy County Borough Council to follow through with the expansion.”

Wrth ymateb i lythyr am wasanaeth fflecsi Dyffryn Conwy, cadarnhaodd Ken Skates AS, Ysgrifennydd y Cabinet dros Drafnidiaeth a Gogledd Cymru, ei fod wedi gofyn i Drafnidiaeth Cymru adolygu'r gwasanaeth gan sicrhau bod cymunedau Dyffryn Conwy yn cael gwasanaeth gwell yn y dyfodol.
Croesawyd y cyhoeddiad hwn gan Janet Finch-Saunders, AS Aberconwy. Mae Janet wedi ymgyrchu ers amser maith dros wella trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus yn y Gogledd, ac ehangu gwasanaethau fflecsi.
Wrth ymateb i'r llythyr gan Janet Finch-Saunders, dywedodd Ysgrifennydd y Cabinet dros Drafnidiaeth a Gogledd Cymru, Ken Skates:
“Wrth i'r contract presennol ddod i ben ym mis Tachwedd eleni, rydym wedi gofyn i Trafnidiaeth Cymru weithio gyda'r Cyngor i adolygu gweithrediad y gwasanaeth cyn gwneud unrhyw benderfyniadau ar ail-dendro'r gwasanaeth.”
Wrth sôn am y posibilrwydd o ehangu’r ardal bysiau fflecsi, dywedodd Janet:
“Mae'n hanfodol bod ardal gyfredol y gwasanaeth bysiau fflecsi yn cael ei gwarchod a'i ehangu. Rwyf wedi ymgyrchu ers tro byd dros wasanaethau trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus a mynediad gwell ledled Aberconwy ac ardaloedd y gogledd yn ehangach.
“Mae'r gwasanaethau pwysig hyn yn fodd i bobl Dyffryn Conwy deithio'n rhwydd, fel rhan o'u bywydau bob dydd, yn ogystal ag ennyn ymwelwyr i deithio o amgylch y Dyffryn.
“Rwy'n croesawu'r ystyriaeth i ehangu ardal y bysiau fflecsi, ac yn annog Trafnidiaeth Cymru, y Cyd-bwyllgor Corfforaethol, a Chyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy i fwrw’r maen i’r wal”.
