Progress is being made on the three infrastructure projects in Aberconwy funded by the previous UK Conservative Government: Glan Conwy walking and cycling route; Trefriw flood alleviation; and sappers bridge replacement, Betws-y-Coed.

Conwy County Borough Council is able to undertake all three projects because it was granted over £18m by the previous UK Conservative Government.

Commenting on the schemes, Janet said:

“The Sappers Bridge project is underway, with work on the path from the bridge to the A470 and along the road to Rhyd y Creuau having commenced. The bridge construction should be completed by this time next year.

“The Local Authority is going ahead with the next phase of works in-between Trefriw and Dolgarrog, which includes lifting the height of some of the road.

“The next phase of the project in Glan Conwy is work from beyond the RSPB visitor centre to A470 lay-by. This will be undertaken between September 2025 to July 2026.

“I’m very grateful to the officers at Conwy County Borough Council for their continued work and cooperation on these three major infrastructure projects. When completed, the benefit to each community will be unquestionable”.

Mae cynnydd yn cael ei wneud ar y tri phrosiect seilwaith yn Aberconwy sy’n cael eu hariannu gan Lywodraeth Geidwadol flaenorol y DU: llwybr cerdded a beicio Glan Conwy; lliniaru llifogydd yn Nhrefriw; a disodli Pont y Soldiwr, Betws-y-coed.

Mae Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy yn gallu ymgymryd â'r tri phrosiect oherwydd ei fod wedi cael dros £18 miliwn gan Lywodraeth Geidwadol flaenorol y DU.

Wrth sôn am y cynlluniau, dywedodd Janet:

"Mae prosiect Pont y Soldiwr ar y gweill, gyda'r gwaith ar y llwybr o'r bont i'r A470 ac ar hyd y ffordd i Ryd y Creuau wedi dechrau. Dylai gwaith adeiladu'r bont gael ei gwblhau erbyn yr adeg hon y flwyddyn nesaf.

"Mae'r Awdurdod Lleol yn bwrw rhagddi â'r cam nesaf o'r gwaith rhwng Trefriw a Dolgarrog, sy'n cynnwys codi uchder rhywfaint o'r ffordd.

"Cam nesaf y prosiect yng Nglan Conwy yw gwaith o'r tu hwnt i ganolfan ymwelwyr yr RSPB i gilfan yr A470. Bydd hyn yn cael ei wneud rhwng mis Medi 2025 a mis Gorffennaf 2026.

"Rwy'n ddiolchgar iawn i swyddogion Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy am eu gwaith a'u cydweithrediad parhaus ar y tri phrosiect seilwaith mawr hyn. Pan fydd wedi'i gwblhau, bydd pob cymuned yn sicr yn elwa arno".
