Constituents from across Aberconwy have taken part in the free first aid training St John’s Ambulance and Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, hosted at Craig-y-Don’s Community Centre.

During the course, attendees learnt how to manage an incident, CPR, how to use a defibrillator, and treating someone bleeding or chocking.

Commenting after the session, Janet said:

“I would like to thank St John’s Ambulance for leading the session, and everyone who took part.

“Learning first aid can empower you to save lives by stabilising a patient until professional medical help arrives.

“Despite even the most simple of first aid having the potential to make a huge difference, only 1 in 20 people know what to do in an emergency. I therefore intend on holding more sessions this year.”

Mae etholwyr o bob rhan o Aberconwy wedi cymryd rhan mewn hyfforddiant cymorth cyntaf am ddim a gynhaliwyd gan Ambiwlans Sant Ioan a Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o'r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yng Nghanolfan Gymunedol Craig-y-Don.

Yn ystod y cwrs, fe ddysgodd pobl sut i reoli digwyddiad, rhoi CPR, defnyddio diffibriliwr a thrin rhywun sy'n gwaedu neu'n tagu.

Wrth siarad ar ôl y sesiwn, dywedodd Janet:

“Hoffwn ddiolch i Ambiwlans Sant Ioan am arwain y sesiwn, ac i bawb a gymerodd ran.

“Gall dysgu cymorth cyntaf eich grymuso chi i achub bywydau drwy sefydlogi claf nes bod help meddygol proffesiynol yn cyrraedd.

“Er bod gan y cymorth cyntaf mwyaf syml y potensial i wneud gwahaniaeth enfawr, dim ond 1 o bob 20 person sy'n gwybod beth i'w wneud mewn argyfwng. Felly rwy'n bwriadu cynnal mwy o sesiynau eleni.”
