Llandudno

Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of the “invaluable contribution” the Blind Vetrans Centre of Wellbeing in Llandudno has made to the community and veterans.

This comes at a time when the charity's centre is at risk of closure following a strategic review of their operations and financial sustainability.

The company has proposed ending its activity in Llandudno, but said no final decision had been made.

Commenting on the future of Blind Veterans, Janet said:

“My thoughts are with the members of staff and beneficiaries for whom this significant uncertainty will be very distressing.

“I understand that consideration as to the future of the Llandudno Centre is linked to the wider aim of securing the charity's future.

“There is no doubt that Blind Veterans has made an invaluable contribution to our community and veterans. For example, the two centres operated by the organisation collectively supported over 1000 veterans during the last year.

“I will continue to communicate with the charity so to see what help I can provide”.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi sôn am y "cyfraniad amhrisiadwy" y mae Canolfan Lles Cyn-filwyr Dall Llandudno wedi'i wneud i'r gymuned ac i gyn-filwyr.
Daw hyn ar adeg pan fo canolfan yr elusen mewn perygl o gau yn dilyn adolygiad strategol o'u gweithrediadau a'u cynaliadwyedd ariannol.
Mae'r cwmni wedi cynnig dod â'i weithgarwch i ben yn Llandudno, ond dywedodd nad oedd penderfyniad terfynol wedi'i wneud.

Wrth sôn am ddyfodol Cyn-filwyr Dall, dywedodd Janet:

"Rwy'n meddwl am aelodau staff a buddiolwyr y bydd yr ansicrwydd llethol hwn yn peri gofid mawr iddyn nhw.

"Rwy'n deall bod ystyriaeth ynghylch dyfodol Canolfan Llandudno yn gysylltiedig â'r nod ehangach o sicrhau dyfodol yr elusen.

"Does dim amheuaeth bod Cyn-filwyr Dall wedi gwneud cyfraniad amhrisiadwy i'n cymuned ac i’n cyn-filwyr. Er enghraifft, mae’r ddwy ganolfan sy’n cael eu rhedeg  gan y sefydliad gyda'i gilydd wedi cefnogi dros 1000 o gyn-filwyr yn ystod y flwyddyn ddiwethaf.

"Byddaf yn parhau i gyfathrebu gyda'r elusen er mwyn gweld pa help y gallaf ei ddarparu".
