Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, is delighted to promote her free defibrillator awareness training event coming next month.
On Friday the 15th of November at 16:00 Craig-y-Don’s Community Centre will be hosting a Public Access Free Defibrillator Awareness Course.
Training will include; how to manage an incident, spotting signs of chest pains, undertaking a primary survey and resuscitation (CPR), and an introduction to the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Commenting on the course Janet said:
“I am delighted to let everyone know that I, alongside St John Ambulance, will be hosting a training course for how to use a defibrillator, and what to do when you come across an unconscious casualty, or one experiencing chest pains.
“These are invaluable skills that should be made available to every and anyone who wants to learn more.
“Currently there are over 6,000 of these Community Public Access Defibrillators right across Wales and chances are you will have seen one around your local area.
“95% of community defibrillators are now 'rescue ready' to attend a cardiac arrest so it is important that people aren’t afraid to use them as they are very straightforward.
“If you would like to attend the free course then please contact myself at [email protected] or by calling my office on 01492 871 198.
“I have space for 30 so please get on and book to learn more about how you could save a life!”

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yn falch iawn o hyrwyddo ei digwyddiad hyfforddi ymwybyddiaeth diffibrilwyr am ddim a gynhelir fis nesaf.
Ddydd Gwener y 15fed o Dachwedd am 16:00 bydd Canolfan Gymunedol Craig-y-Don yn cynnal Cwrs Ymwybyddiaeth Diffibrilwyr am ddim i'r cyhoedd.
Bydd yr hyfforddiant yn cynnwys; sut i reoli digwyddiad, sut i sylwi ar arwyddion o boenau yn y frest, cynnal arolwg sylfaenol a dadebru (CPR), a chyflwyniad i'r defnydd o Ddiffibriliwr Allanol Awtomataidd (AED).
Wrth sôn am y cwrs dywedodd Janet:
"Rwy'n falch iawn o roi gwybod i bawb y byddaf i, yng nghwmni Ambiwlans Sant Ioan, yn cynnal cwrs hyfforddi ar sut i ddefnyddio diffibriliwr, a beth i'w wneud pan ddowch chi ar draws person yn anymwybodol, neu'n cael poenau yn y frest.
"Mae'r rhain yn sgiliau amhrisiadwy y dylid eu darparu i bawb ac unrhyw un sydd eisiau dysgu mwy.
"Ar hyn o bryd, mae dros 6,000 o'r Diffibrilwyr Mynediad Cyhoeddus Cymunedol hyn i’w cael ledled Cymru ac mae'n debygol y byddwch wedi gweld un yn eich ardal leol.
"Mae 95% o ddiffibrilwyr cymunedol bellach yn 'barod i achub' rhywun sy’n cael ataliad ar y galon felly mae'n bwysig nad yw pobl yn ofni eu defnyddio gan eu bod yn syml iawn.
