With the warmer weather approaching and Wales expecting to reach 20 degrees in the coming weeks, Janet Finch-Saunders MS/AS is in support of the RSPCA's reminder that "dogs die in hot cars". Our canine friends are important family members and will surely also be enjoying the warmer weather, whether going for a swim or going for walks. However, in a recent poll, 58% of people wouldn't leave their dog inside a car on a warm day, therefore, more than 40% of people may still potentially put their pets at risk.
In response, Janet said:
"Although it may be 20 degrees outside, inside a vehicle it can be much higher. Many people leave their dogs in cars and for those, I urge you to be conscious about the time of day and how long you will be away from your vehicle.
"If you see a dog in critical condition, the RSPCA's advice is to phone the police in emergency situations but otherwise, monitor the condition of the dog, check parking tickets to see how long the owners have been away and inform the staff nearby if at all possible.
"North Wales is a haven for dog owners and by being responsible, we can all enjoy the beautiful outdoors."

"Os ydych chi'n gweld ci mewn cyflwr difrifol, cyngor yr RSPCA yw ffonio'r heddlu mewn argyfwng ond fel arall, monitro cyflwr y ci, edrychwch ar docynnau parcio i weld pa mor hir mae'r perchnogion wedi bod i ffwrdd a rhoi gwybod i'r staff gerllaw os yn bosib.
"Mae’r Gogledd yn hafan i berchnogion cŵn a thrwy fod yn gyfrifol, gallwn ni i gyd fwynhau'r awyr agored hyfryd."
