3G pitch

Following a very well attended meeting held on Friday evening at St David’s Church Penrhyn bay to discuss plans to place a 3G pitch at Ysgol y Creuddyn, Janet Finch-Saunders MS/AS is calling for greater consultation by the applicants.

Throughout the meeting, it became clear that residents were concerned about the environmental impact, in particular the hedges, curlews and light pollution; the funding with regard to the long term maintenance costs; the pitch being at the cost of other sports such as rugby and athletics and conflict with FAW guidance.

In attendance were elected members Cllr Christ Cater & Cllr Carol Beard who represent Conwy County Borough Council and the former is also a member of the Llandudno Town Council planning committee.

Following the meeting, Janet said:

“Whilst I have received numerous representations from those wishing for this new development, it has to be said there is a large body of opposition.

“As a result of the meeting, I will now be contacting the Welsh Government, the Education Department and Ffit Conwy. There is a distinct feeling that this application is being rushed through and I do intend to ensure that full facts of the scheme are provided to these very concerned residents.

ENDS

Yn dilyn cyfarfod llawn iawn a gynhaliwyd nos Wener yn Eglwys Dewi Sant Bae Penrhyn i drafod cynlluniau i osod cae 3G yn Ysgol y Creuddyn, mae Janet Finch-Saunders AC yn galw am fwy o ymgynghori gan yr ymgeiswyr.

Gydol y cyfarfod, daeth yn amlwg bod trigolion yn poeni am yr effaith amgylcheddol, yn enwedig y gwrychoedd, y gylfinirod a'r llygredd golau; y cyllid o ran y costau cynnal a chadw hirdymor; y cae yn cael ei gyllido ar draul chwaraeon eraill fel rygbi ac athletau ac yn mynd yn groes i ganllawiau Cymdeithas Bêl-droed Cymru.

Yn bresennol roedd yr aelodau etholedig y Cynghorydd Christ Cater a'r Cynghorydd Carol Beard sy'n cynrychioli Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy ac mae'r cyntaf hefyd yn aelod o bwyllgor cynllunio Cyngor Tref Llandudno.

Yn dilyn y cyfarfod, dywedodd Janet:

"Er fy mod wedi derbyn nifer o sylwadau gan y rhai sydd o blaid y datblygiad newydd hwn, rhaid dweud bod llawer iawn yn ei erbyn.

"O ganlyniad i'r cyfarfod, byddaf nawr yn cysylltu â Llywodraeth Cymru, yr Adran Addysg a Ffit Conwy. Mae teimlad pendant bod y cais hwn yn cael ei ruthro drwyddo ac rwy'n bwriadu sicrhau bod ffeithiau llawn y cynllun yn cael eu darparu i'r preswylwyr pryderus hyn.
