Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy is extremely pleased to see that the hard work of the UK Conservative government is paying off as inflation tumbles to 3.2%.

The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP celebrated yesterday as inflation dropped to its lowest level in two and a half years, with the Consumer Price Index falling to 3.2% in March from 3.4% the previous month, driven by lower food prices.

The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP has rightly highlighted the government's successful strategy based on this official data, suggesting people will begin to see real improvements soon. These statistics followed the Governor of the Bank of England, Andrew Bailey’s, hint that the Bank of England could cut interest rates before the US Federal Reserve.

Commenting on the news Janet said:

“I am extremely pleased to hear that Jeremy Hunt’s economic plan of seeking to reduce inflation is working. The news last night was a welcome boost to Aberconwy and I know that it will put many people’s minds at rest after experience some very rough years.

“This means that rises in prices for food and other goods will begin to plateau, and means businesses will be able to make sustainable choices as the market becomes more stable.

“With lower inflation and the government's recent reduction in National Insurance contributions for both employed and the self-employed, people should start seeing a difference in their day to day lives as well as in their wages.

“If we remain committed to the Prime Minister's plan. This is clear evidence that the plan is effective, and by staying on course, we can secure a brighter future for everyone."

ENDS

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o'r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yn hynod falch o weld bod gwaith caled llywodraeth Geidwadol y DU yn talu ar ei ganfed wrth i chwyddiant ostwng i 3.2%.

Roedd y Gwir Anrhydeddus Jeremy Hunt AS yn dathlu ddoe wrth i chwyddiant ostwng i'w lefel isaf mewn dwy flynedd a hanner, gyda'r Mynegai Prisiau Defnyddwyr yn gostwng i 3.2% ym mis Mawrth o 3.4% y mis blaenorol, wedi'i yrru gan brisiau bwyd is.

Mae'r Gwir Anrhydeddus Rishi Sunak A wedi tynnu sylw, yn gwbl briodol, at strategaeth lwyddiannus y llywodraeth sy'n seiliedig ar y data swyddogol hwn, gan awgrymu y bydd pobl yn dechrau gweld gwelliannau gwirioneddol yn fuan. Roedd yr ystadegau hyn yn dilyn awgrym Andrew Bailey, Llywodraethwr Banc Lloegr, y gallai Banc Lloegr dorri cyfraddau llog cyn Cronfa Ffederal Wrth Gefn yr Unol Daleithiau.

Wrth sôn am y newyddion, dywedodd Janet:

“Rwy'n hynod o falch clywed bod cynllun economaidd Jeremy Hunt o geisio lleihau chwyddiant yn gweithio. Roedd y newyddion neithiwr yn hwb i'w groesawu i Aberconwy a gwn y bydd yn tawelu meddyliau llawer o bobl ar ôl profi rhai blynyddoedd caled iawn.

“Mae hyn yn golygu y bydd cynnydd ym mhrisiau bwyd a nwyddau eraill yn dechrau sefydlogi, ac y bydd busnesau'n gallu gwneud dewisiadau cynaliadwy wrth i'r farchnad sefydlogi.

“Gyda chwyddiant is a gostyngiad diweddar y llywodraeth yng nghyfraniadau Yswiriant Gwladol i'r rhai sy'n gyflogedig ac yn hunangyflogedig, dylai pobl ddechrau gweld gwahaniaeth yn eu bywydau o ddydd i ddydd yn ogystal ag yn eu cyflogau.

“Os ydyn ni'n parhau i fod yn ymrwymedig i gynllun y Prif Weinidog. Dyma dystiolaeth glir fod y cynllun yn effeithiol, a thrwy barhau ar y trywydd iawn, gallwn sicrhau dyfodol mwy disglair i bawb."
