Janet Finch-Saunders MS has joined with Barclay Davies OBE, Director for Cymru/Wales, Bus Users UK, on a bus journey in Aberconwy so to promote use of public transport during Catch the Bus Month 2023.
Travelling on a Llew Jones bus to Llandudno Junction, Janet and Barclay promoted the bus as a healthy, inclusive and sustainable way to travel.
Speaking during the bus journey, Janet said:
“I am passionate about improving bus travel in Aberconwy, and across North Wales. Whilst I have been pleased to work with local bus companies and residents to deliver services to partly mitigate the devastating loss of the T19, my work to improve services continues.
“It is completely unacceptable that the majority of Aberconwy is completely devoid of public transport in the evenings.
“However, where we have buses, we should make use of them.
“They are community hubs, where friendships are fostered. I thank Barclay and Bus Users UK for all that they do to help me and local residents make the case for enhanced bus services”.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS wedi ymuno â Barclay Davies OBE, Cyfarwyddwr Cymru, Bus Users UK, ar daith bws yn Aberconwy er mwyn hyrwyddo'r defnydd o drafnidiaeth gyhoeddus yn ystod Mis Dal y Bws 2023.
Wrth deithio ar fws Llew Jones i Gyffordd Llandudno, hyrwyddodd Janet a Barclay y bws fel ffordd iach, gynhwysol a chynaliadwy o deithio.
Yn siarad yn ystod y daith bws, dywedodd Janet:
"Rwy'n angerddol am wella teithio ar fysiau yn Aberconwy, a ledled y Gogledd. Er fy mod wedi bod yn falch o weithio gyda chwmnïau bysiau lleol a thrigolion i ddarparu gwasanaethau i liniaru colli’r gwasanaeth T19 yn rhannol, mae fy ngwaith i wella gwasanaethau yn parhau.
"Mae'n gwbl annerbyniol nad oes trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus ar gael o gwbl bron iawn yn Aberconwy gyda'r nos.
"Fodd bynnag, lle mae gennym fysiau, dylem eu defnyddio.
"Maen nhw'n ganolfannau cymunedol, lle mae cyfeillgarwch yn cael ei meithrin. Diolch i Barclay a Bus Users UK am bopeth maen nhw'n ei wneud i'm helpu i a thrigolion lleol i gyflwyno'r achos dros wella gwasanaethau bysiau".
