Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of her delight after visiting the RNLI Shop in the centre of Llandudno.
As the RNLI is a charity and independent from the HM Coastguard and Government, the organisation relies on donations so that it can carry on running it’s vital 24/7 service.
The shop, conveniently located on St Georges Place sells a wealth of gifts and souvenirs, with the staff all being volunteers, just like their lifeboat station counterparts. The aim is to engage with the public, raise awareness of water safety whilst at the beach, as well as raising important funds through selling gifts, souvenirs and other products.
Commenting on the visit, Janet said:
“It was wonderful to meet the hardworking volunteers at the shop, and see the wonderful offerings that the public can buy.
“The volunteers here are just as important as the volunteer lifeboat station crew in Craig-y-Don. Everyone within the organisation has a role to play, and they all work as a large team together so that the service can carry on supporting the thousands of people that visit Llandudno each year.
“Thank you to the shop and station volunteers for all their tremendous work. I and many others within Aberconwy are grateful for your commitment to saving lives at sea”.

Wrth sôn am ei hymweliad, dywedodd Janet:
"Roedd hi'n hyfryd cael cwrdd â'r gwirfoddolwyr sy'n gweithio'n galed yn y siop, a gweld yr eitemau gwych y gall y cyhoedd eu prynu.
"Mae'r gwirfoddolwyr yma yn llawn mor bwysig â chriw gorsaf bad achub gwirfoddol Craig-y-Don. Mae gan bawb o fewn y mudiad ran i'w chwarae, ac maen nhw i gyd yn gweithio fel tîm mawr gyda'i gilydd er mwyn i'r gwasanaeth fedru parhau i gefnogi'r miloedd o bobl sy’n ymweld â Llandudno bob blwyddyn.
"Diolch i'r siop a gwirfoddolwyr yr orsaf am eu holl waith rhagorol. Rydw i a sawl un arall yn ardal Aberconwy yn ddiolchgar am eich ymrwymiad i achub bywydau ar y môr".
