Rally

Following a weekend which saw Conwy County full of rally cars of various types, and producing a range of sounds, Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has praised the organisers for the success of the event.

Now in its 66th year the Cambrian is recognised as one of the best rallies in the UK. It is part of several championships which includes the British Rally Championship, BTRDA Rally Series, WAMC, and the ANWCC Championship. For 2022 it is also part of the new Bowler Defender Challenge championship.

After watching some of the rally in Llanrwst, Janet said:

“It was fantastic to hear the chorus of sounds coming from the cars. The noise was echoing across the Conwy valley which provided a unique backdrop to the thrill that many were experiencing upon seeing the vehicles.

“I was pleased to join with people of all generations to watch some of the drivers in Llanrwst.

“It was great to see our community get behind the event, and an honour for Conwy County to host one of the best rallies in the United Kingdom.

“The Cambrian team should be proud of what they have achieved. Their incredible event is yet another amazing reason why people should visit Aberconwy”.

Yn dilyn penwythnos pan welwyd ceir rali o bob math, yn cynhyrchu amrywiaeth o synau gwahanol, yn Sir Conwy, mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o Senedd Cymru dros Aberconwy, wedi canmol y trefnwyr am lwyddiant y digwyddiad.

Mae Rali Cambrian yn ei 66ain blwyddyn ac mae’n cael ei hystyried fel un o’r goreuon yn y DU. Mae’n rhan o sawl pencampwriaeth sy’n cynnwys Pencampwriaeth Rali Prydain, Cyfres Rali BTRDA, WAMC, a Phencampwriaeth ANWCC. Yn 2022, mae hefyd yn rhan o bencampwriaeth newydd y Bowler Defender Challenge.

Ar ôl gwylio rhywfaint o’r rali yn Llanrwst, meddai Janet:

“Roedd hi’n wych clywed y cytgan o synau’n dod o’r ceir. Roedd y sŵn yn atseinio ar draws Dyffryn Conwy a ddarparodd gefndir unigryw i’r wefr yr oedd llawer yn ei chael wrth wylio’r ceir.

“Ro’n i’n falch o ymuno â phobl o sawl cenhedlaeth wahanol i wylio rhai o’r gyrwyr yn Llanrwst.

“Roedd hi’n braf gweld ein cymuned yn cefnogi’r digwyddiad, ac yn anrhydedd i Sir Conwy gynnal un o ralïau gorau y Deyrnas Unedig.

“Dylai tîm Cambrian fod yn falch o’r hyn maen nhw wedi’i gyflawni. Mae’r digwyddiad anhygoel hwn yn rheswm gwych arall dros ymweld ag Aberconwy”.
