Having recently visited OPS Wind, Llandudno, Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, and Shadow Minister for Climate Change, has praised the key role OPS Wind are playing in delivering green jobs for North Wales.

Since being established in 2010, OPS has grown from having started in Liverpool to also having a bespoke training centre, and offices in Grimsby and Llandudno.

Last year the company had over 100 technicians deployed on projects across the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and Africa.  They are now looking to expand further, and have fascinating courses on offer, such as wind farm safety and maintenance, and specialist painting and blasting.

Commenting after her visit to the office in Llandudno, Janet said:

“I would like to thank OPS Wind for their investment in the community and people of Aberconwy.

“Alongside creating important jobs in the green sector, they are to be applauded for the selfless steps they are taking to back the town, such as by sponsoring Llandudno FC!

“With a nation-wide goal of achieving Net Zero 2050, it is vital that we have a green revolution here in North Wales, and see the creation of green jobs.

“OPS Wind is evidence that a green revolution is taking place and delivering invaluable opportunities for residents of Aberconwy”.

Ar ôl ymweld â chwmni OPS Wind yn Llandudno yn ddiweddar, mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o Senedd Cymru dros Aberconwy, a Gweinidog Newid Hinsawdd yr Wrthblaid, wedi canmol cyfraniad allweddol OPS Wind at ddarparu swyddi gwyrdd yn y Gogledd.

Sefydlwyd OPS yn Lerpwl yn 2010, ac mae’r cwmni wedi tyfu ers hynny gan sefydlu canolfan hyfforddi a swyddfeydd yn Llandudno a Grimsby.

Y llynedd roedd dros 100 o dechnegwyr yn gweithio i’r cwmni ar brosiectau ledled y DU, Ewrop, Sgandinafia ac Affrica. Mae’r cwmni yn gobeithio ehangu eto, ac mae’n cynnig cyrsiau hynod ddiddorol ym meysydd fel diogelwch a chynnal a chadw ffermydd gwynt, a pheintio a ffrwydro arbenigol.

Ar ôl ymweld â’r swyddfa yn Llandudno, meddai Janet:

“Hoffwn ddiolch i gwmni OPS Wind am fuddsoddi yng nghymuned a phobl Aberconwy.

“Yn ogystal â chreu swyddi pwysig yn y sector gwyrdd, rhaid canmol y cwmni am fynd ati i gefnogi’r dref, trwy noddi Clwb Pêl-droed Llandudno er enghraifft.

“Er mwyn cyrraedd y nod cenedlaethol o fod yn Sero Net erbyn 2050, mae’n hanfodol ein bod yn cael chwyldro gwyrdd yma yn y Gogledd, gan greu swyddi gwyrdd.

“Mae OPS Wind yn dystiolaeth bod chwyldro gwyrdd ar waith sy’n creu cyfleoedd hynod bwysig i drigolion Aberconwy”.
