Last Saturday, Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, attended Eglwysbach Show where she had a stall so to engage with constituents.

Eglwysbach Show was founded in the 1940s. The show was held in the village park field in the early years, then moved to Plas Llan Farm and Llwydfan, Tal y Cafn, and in more recent years it has been held at Henblas, Eglwysbach. This year the show returned to Llwydfan, right beside the Conwy River.

This annual event is an important date in the agricultural calendar, attracting competitors from all over the country.

Commenting after participating in the show, Janet said:

“I would like to thank all involved in arranging this brilliant show.

“Despite the very warm weather, it was marvellous to see the high standard of all entries, and so many people enjoying the day.

“Whilst the pandemic has prevented the show from taking place over the last few years, I am delighted that this great agricultural event is back and providing a platform for exceptional animals, food, and local businesses.

“From speaking to constituents at my stand and several stallholders, it was clear that there is huge enthusiasm for shows like this.  They really do show Welsh produce at its best!”

Dydd Sadwrn diwethaf, aeth Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, i Sioe Eglwysbach lle’r oedd ganddi stondin i ymgysylltu ag etholwyr.

Sefydlwyd Sioe Eglwysbach yn yr 1940au. Cynhaliwyd y sioe ym maes parcio’r pentref yn y blynyddoedd cynnar, cyn symud i Fferm Plas Llan a Llwydfan, Tal-y-cafn, ac yn y blynyddoedd diwethaf mae wedi’i chynnal yn Henblas, Eglwysbach. Eleni, dychwelodd y sioe i Lwydfan, ar lannau Afon Conwy.

Mae’r digwyddiad blynyddol yn ddyddiad pwysig yn y calendr amaethyddol, gan ddenu cystadleuwyr o bob cwr o’r wlad.

Wrth wneud sylwadau ar ôl cymryd rhan yn y sioe, dywedodd Janet:

“Hoffwn ddiolch i bawb a gyfrannodd at drefnu’r sioe ragorol hon.

“Er y tywydd cynnes iawn, roedd hi’n wych gweld safon uchel pawb a oedd yn cystadlu, a chymaint o bobl yn mwynhau’r diwrnod.

“Er bod y pandemig wedi atal y sioe rhag cael ei chynnal dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf, rwyf wrth fy modd bod y digwyddiad amaethyddol gwych hwn yn ei ôl ac yn cynnig llwyfan ar gyfer anifeiliaid, bwyd a busnesau lleol heb eu hail.

“O siarad gydag etholwyr yn fy stondin a sawl stondinwr arall, roedd hi’n amlwg bod brwdfrydedd enfawr dros sioeau fel hyn. Heb os, maen nhw’n dangos cynnyrch Cymru ar ei orau!”
