In a survey undertaken by Which Llandudno was named as the best holiday destination in Wales and second best in the entire UK, receiving a Which destination score of 86%.

Commenting on the news Janet said:

“The tourism and hospitality industry in Llandudno and across Aberconwy plays a vital role in our local economy, driving investment and supporting hundreds of local jobs. Given this, I am truly delighted that following the pandemic, our local tourism businesses are being increasingly recognised for their continued successes, drawing in ever greater numbers of visitors from across our country. Their commitment and dedication to their guests is outstanding and explains why we see people return year after year.

“This survey again highlights the important role that self-catering holiday accommodation and hoteliers play within our local tourism industry. These establishments help to provide high quality accommodation to the thousands of visitors that holiday in Llandudno every year.

“As we rapidly approach the busy summer season, I would like to wish tourism and hospitality businesses across Llandudno and Aberconwy all the very best for their continued success throughout this period, and I would like to thank them for their ongoing contribution to our local economy. Now is the time for the Welsh Government to end its crusade against this industry”.

Mewn arolwg a gynhaliwyd gan Which, enwyd Llandudno fel y gyrchfan wyliau orau yng Nghymru a’r ail orai yn y DU gyfan, gan gyflawni sgôr cyrchfan Which o 86%.

Gan roi sylwadau ar y newyddion, dywedodd Janet:

“Mae’r diwydiant twristiaeth a lletygarwch yn Llandudno a ledled Aberconwy yn gwneud cyfraniad hanfodol at ein heconomi leol, gan sbarduno buddsoddiad a chefnogi cannoedd o swyddi lleol. O ystyried hyn, rwy’n sobor o falch ar ôl y pandemig bod ein busnesau twristiaeth lleol yn cael rhagor o gydnabyddiaeth am eu llwyddiannau parhaus, gan ddenu hyd yn oed mwy o ymwelwyr o bob rhan o’r wlad. Mae ganddynt ymrwymiad ac ymroddiad anhygoel i’w gwesteion ac mae hyn yn egluro pam mae pobl yn dychwelyd dro ar ôl tro.

“Mae’r arolwg hwn unwaith eto’n tynnu sylw at rôl bwysig llety gwyliau hunanarlwyo a gwestywyr o fewn ein diwydiant twristiaeth leol. Mae’r sefydliadau hyn yn helpu i ddarparu llety o ansawdd uchel i’r miloedd o ymwelwyr sy’n dod yma ar eu gwyliau i Landudno bob blwyddyn.

“Wrth i ni agosáu at dymor prysur yr haf, hoffwn ddymuno’r gorau i fusnesau twristiaeth a lletygarwch ledled Llandudno ac Aberconwy gan ddymuno llwyddiant parhaus iddynt gydol y cyfnod hwn, a hoffwn ddiolch iddynt am eu cyfraniad parhaus at ein heconomi leol. Nawr yw’r amser i Lywodraeth Cymru roi diwedd ar ei chrwsâd yn erbyn y diwydiant hwn.
