The Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has welcomed an update informing her that the interim WelTAG Stage 2 work for the Glan Conwy Active Travel Scheme has now been completed, with the remainder of this stage hoped to be concluded by the end of September.

Commenting on the news Janet said:

“Ensuring that the timely completion of this WelTAG review is of great importance to me. It is clear that steps need to be taken by the Welsh Government in order to upgrade our transport network here in Aberconwy, whether that be through addressing road safety concerns along the A470 or improving active travel routes across our communities, it is hoped that this review will identify the works required by Welsh Government.

“Over coming weeks, a stakeholder workshop will be held, where the details of upcoming activities, that are required to complete the Glan Conwy Active Travel WelTAG Stage 2, will be outlined. This will be followed by a public consultations exercise.

“Having worked with stakeholders such as the RSPB, Crown Estates, Network Rail, Conwy County Borough Council & Glan Conwy Community Council in relation to active travel within Glan Conwy, I am pleased to see that progress is being made and that Conwy County Borough Council (C.C.B.C.) outlining that it is hoped that stage 3 of this process will be completed by early 2023.”

Mae’r Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, wedi croesawu diweddariad yn ei hysbysu bod gwaith dros dro Arweiniad ar Arfarnu Trafnidiaeth Cymru Cam 2 wedi’i gwblhau bellach. Y gobaith yw y bydd gweddill y cam hwn yn cael ei gwblhau erbyn diwedd mis Medi.

Wrth drafod y newyddion, dywedodd Janet:

“Mae sicrhau bod yr adolygiad Arweiniad ar Arfarnu Trafnidiaeth Cymru hwn yn cael ei gwblhau yn amserol yn bwysig i mi. Mae’n amlwg bod angen i Lywodraeth Cymru gymryd camau i uwchraddio ein rhwydwaith trafnidiaeth yma yn Aberconwy. Waeth a yw hynny’n digwydd trwy fynd i’r afael â phryderon diogelwch ar y ffyrdd ar hyd yr A470, neu drwy wella llwybrau teithio llesol ledled ein cymunedau, y gobaith yw y bydd yr adolygiad hwn yn nodi’r gwaith sydd angen ei wneud gan Lywodraeth Cymru.

“Dros yr wythnosau nesaf cynhelir gweithdy i randdeiliaid a fydd yn amlinellu gwybodaeth am weithgareddau arfaethedig sydd eu hangen i gwblhau Arweiniad ar Arfarnu Trafnidiaeth Cymru Cam 2. Cynhelir ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus wedyn.

“Mae’n dda gweld bod cynnydd yn cael ei wneud a bod Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy yn gobeithio y bydd cam 3 o’r broses hon yn cael ei gwblhau yn gynnar yn 2023.”
