Following news that the National Trust is seeking tenants for Aberconwy House, the Member of the Welsh Parliament, Janet Finch-Saunders, has visited the site to discuss the future of this historic building.

Commenting on after her visit Janet said:

“Aberconwy House is an important local asset and is an iconic part of the Conwy skyline. This property dates back to the 14th century and is the only merchant house in Conwy to have survived the town’s turbulent history.

“Given this I am pleased to see that the National Trust are activity looking to engage with the community, partners, and stakeholders to locate a tenant that will make proper use of this space whilst also maintaining and preserving the building for future generations.

“I would like to thank the National Trust team at this location for their continued hard work and dedication to this facility and to Conwy.”

AS Aberconwy yn ymweld â Thŷ Aberconwy yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol yng Nghonwy

Yn dilyn y newyddion bod yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol yn chwilio am denantiaid ar gyfer Tŷ Aberconwy, mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd, wedi ymweld â’r safle i drafod dyfodol yr adeilad hanesyddol.

Wrth roi sylwadau ar ôl ei hymweliad, dywedodd Janet:

“Mae Tŷ Aberconwy yn ased lleol pwysig ac yn rhan eiconig o dirlun Conwy. Mae’r eiddo yn dyddio yn ôl i’r 14eg ganrif a dyma’r unig dŷ masnachwr yng Nghonwy i oroesi hanes cythryblus y dref.

“O ystyried hyn rwy’n falch gweld bod yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol wrthi’n frwd yn ceisio ymgysylltu â’r gymuned, partneriaid a rhanddeiliaid i ddod o hyd i denant a fydd yn gwneud defnydd priodol o’r gofod hwn wrth gynnal a chadw a gwarchod yr adeilad ar gyfer cenedlaethau’r dyfodol hefyd.

“Hoffwn ddiolch i dîm yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol yn y lleoliad am eu gwaith caled parhaus a’u hymroddiad i’r cyfleuster hwn ac i Gonwy.”
