Ukraine

Janet Finch-Saunders MS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, is urging constituents to support the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Her calls come as President Putin continues to subject the Ukraine to unimaginable horrors.

More than one million civilians have fled Ukraine because of the Russian invasion, according to the United Nations.

By donating to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, all of us will help Disaster Emergency Committee charities provide food, water, shelter and healthcare to refugees and displaced families.

Commenting on the Ukrainian crisis, Janet said:

“The Ukrainian people and Volodymyr Zelenskyy are truly inspirational in their fight for survival since the Russian dictator launched his unprovoked, premeditated and barbaric attack on a free and peaceful neighbour.

“Whilst the UK Government is working with allies around the world on multiple fronts to ensure that Putin feels the full cost of his invasion, I know that many of you want to help.

“Earlier this week after the debates had concluded in the Welsh Parliament, I attended a meeting with politicians from all parties to discuss the catastrophe on our continent. I was moved by the stories shared, and touched by tales of residents from Ynys Môn to Monmouthshire making an effort to help.

“I encourage as many as possible to back the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The UK Government will match donations from the public pound-for-pound up to £20 million, meaning your support will go even further”.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS Aberconwy yn annog etholwyr i gefnogi Apêl Ddyngarol Wcráin. Daw ei galwadau wrth i'r Arlywydd Putin barhau â'i ymosodiadau erchyll.

Mae dros filiwn o bobl gyffredin wedi ffoi o Wcráin oherwydd goresgyniad Rwsia, yn ôl y Cenhedloedd Unedig.

Drwy gyfrannu i Apêl Ddyngarol Wcráin, bydd pob un ohonom yn helpu elusennau'r Pwyllgor Argyfyngau i ddarparu bwyd, dŵr, cysgod a gofal iechyd i ffoaduriaid a theuluoedd sydd wedi'u dadleoli.

Wrth ymateb i argyfwng Wcráin, dywedodd Janet:

“Mae pobl Wcráin a Volodymyr Zelensky yn wirioneddol ysbrydoledig yn eu brwydr i oroesi ers i unben Rwsia lansio ei ymosodiad digymell a barbaraidd ar gymydog rhydd a heddychlon.

“Er bod llywodraeth Loegr yn gweithio gyda chynghreiriaid ledled y byd mewn sawl maes i sicrhau bod Putin yn talu'r pris am ei ymosodiad, gwn fod llawer ohonoch am helpu.

“Yn gynharach yr wythnos hon ar ôl i'r dadleuon ddod i ben yn Senedd Cymru, cefais gyfarfod gyda gwleidyddion o bob plaid i drafod y trychineb ar ein cyfandir. Roedd y straeon a rannwyd yn ddirdynnol, a chefais fy nghyffwrdd i'r byw gan hanesion ac ymdrechion trigolion o Fôn i Fynwy i helpu.

“Rwy'n annog cymaint â phosibl i gefnogi Apêl Ddyngarol Wcráin. Bydd Llywodraeth y DU yn rhoi punt am bob punt a roddir gan y cyhoedd hyd at £20 miliwn, sy'n golygu y bydd eich cefnogaeth yn mynd ymhellach fyth”.
