The Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders MS, has praised the local benefit of a brand-new community hub at Llandudno train station run by Creating Enterprise (part of Cartrefi Conwy).

The comments come after Mrs Finch-Saunders attended the official opening, alongside Cartrefi Conwy’s Chief Executive, Andrew Bowden, and the Welsh Government’s Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales, Lesley Griffiths MS. The facility opened its doors on the 6th September 2021.

The hub is a ‘one-stop shop’ for Cartrefi Conwy tenants and the wider community to access specialist advice, training and support. Creating Enterprise also holds the licence for Wales to run the Social Enterprise Academy, which delivers learning and development programmes to private, public and third sector companies.

Speaking after the official opening, Janet said:

“It was a real joy to have attended today’s official opening of the brand-new Creating Enterprise community hub at Llandudno railway station, which is already having a positive local benefit having seen between 87 and 100 people since opening its doors in September.

“As I championed in the Senedd Siambr only recently, our Registered Social Landlords often selflessly build beyond their remit of providing affordable and safe housing. This is especially true with the wide-ranging work undertaken by Cartrefi Conwy under the Creating Enterprise banner.

“Being staffed with specialists who can offer advice and training, based at the very heart of Llandudno, I was taken aback by what a comforting and open space that Cartrefi have produced. Following COP26 and my calls for more leafy urban planting as a passive cooling measure, I particularly commend the living wall installations!”

Creating Enterprise has had huge success winning multiple awards both regionally and nationally, having been named the Fastest Growing Company in North Wales, third fastest growing company in Wales and the Fastest Growing Construction company in Wales 2019. Find out more by clicking here.
