“Get Tested Now”

Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has joined with Public Health Wales, Conwy County Borough Council, and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, to urge people living in the Llandudno Junction, Llandudno and Penrhyn Bay areas to be alert for Coronavirus symptoms and to take a test as soon as possible even if they have no symptoms.

The call comes after a further 35 confirmed or presumptive cases of the variant of concern first identified in India, VOC-21APR-02, were found in the area over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Commenting on the local situation, Janet said:

“I urge as many residents as possible to get tested now.

“Whilst you may not have a symptom, your selfless action could help identify further cases, and enable contact tracers to take action to put a stop to the spread of the variant.

“Please also remember that we can try to protect ourselves and others by remaining at least two metres away from everyone else, washing our hands regularly, and wearing a face covering where required.

“Should you not have received the vaccine, do attend one of the sessions at Venue Cymru.

“By pulling together as a community there is reason for hope that we can keep the variant of concern under control”.
