Commenting on the statement regarding the Childcare Offer, Janet Finch-Saunders, the Shadow Minister for Children, said:
“It is time for the Deputy Minister to be clearer in her actions. On one hand she is telling childcare settings to start planning for increase operations from June 29, but on the other refusing to confirm this until June 18, but the sector needs clarity now.
“We also need an urgent review of the decision to further suspend new applications for the Childcare Offer for another two months.
“The economic situation in Wales is being radically changed by this pandemic, so many parents who may not have qualified previously might do so now.
“We need to ensure that support is available to all working parents as unlocking takes place.”
