“These reports raise serious concerns about financial probity and scrutiny of the spending of taxpayers’ money.
“Taxpayers rightly expect supposedly hard-pressed councils to spend public money wisely, remunerate staff appropriately and within the law and spend their money in a thrifty manner.
“These reports are further evidence of the need for a Wales-wide review of senior pay in Welsh local authorities, which is out of control and failing to deliver value for money to hardworking families.”
