Assembly Member takes park in Blindfold Walk in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind
Janet Finch-Saunders AM teamed up with the Conwy County Guide Dogs Fundraising Group to walk blindfolded from the paddling pool to the pier in Llandudno this Saturday.
The charity started at 14:00pm on Saturday 8th July by the paddling pool on Llandudno promenade.
All donations went go towards sponsoring a puppy and calling him Folly – in memory of the first guide dog which came to North Wales 85 years ago.
Janet said:
“I am delighted to be supporting Guide Dogs for the Blind as almost two million people are living with sight loss here in the UK.
“Providing individuals with a guide dog is a major step towards tackling isolation and loneliness: giving people more freedom.
“Through all the years I have lived here in Llandudno, I have never experienced our community from the perspective of those with sight loss.
“Walking blindfolded along the prom certainly gives a real understanding of how important guide dogs are, and hopefully inspire even greater support for this invaluable organisation”.
