Further to her communication with BT Wales in regards to the proposed closure of one of the phone boxes in Cwm-Penmachno, Janet Finch-Saunders AM has welcomed the fact that this public service has now been saved from closure.
Janet said:
“Whilst phone boxes are being closed across Wales, it was crucial for Cwm-Penmachno that all three remained open.
“A plan was in place to close the phone box in the heart of the community: a village which has no mobile signal and no access to superfast broadband.
“I am delighted that my enquiry has resulted in this positive news that the phone box will be saved.
“It is a relief that Cwm-Penmachno’s 20th Century connectivity has been saved. However, it is time that the Welsh Government gave the community 21st Century connectivity with mobile signal and superfast broadband”.
