Having campaigned with local residents and undertaken numerous site meetings regarding the dangerous roundabout at the junction of Conwy Road, Queens Road, Wormhout Way, and Vicarage Road, Llandudno, the Assembly Member for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders AM, is welcoming the work to be undertaken by Conwy County Borough Council to improve road safety here.
The roundabout is situated on the main route into and out of both Llandudno and Craig y Don, and has been in use for 35 years.
The Assembly Member for Aberconwy said:
“Having received concerns from a number of constituents with regards to the safety of this roundabout following a number of incidents, I have been liaising with Conwy County Borough Council, North Wales Police and local residents.
“Following my interventions, I have welcomed work by the council to undertake safety surveys at this site, and am now pleased that they have listened to their residents and will be commencing a full assessment of the roundabout in order to check the layout against current design and safety standards.
“I look forward to seeing the final assessment of the roundabout soon so that the proposals can be implemented and completed by the end of the financial year.
“The safety and well-being of my constituents is of utmost priority, and I will continue to work to ensure appropriate measures are taken where needed.”
