REVIEW OF THE NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR THE COMMUNITY HEALTH COUNCILS
The Board of Community Health Councils has, for the first time, established a set of national standards for the work of each CHC in Wales
CHC’s have an important job to do in representing the interests of patients and the public in the way National Health Services are planned and provided in Wales.
The Board of CHCs have for the first time, established a set of national standards for the work of each CHC in Wales. These national standards are designed to establish a clear picture of how the activities of a good CHC should look and feel in practice, from the perspective of patients and the public.
The Board of CHCs will actively monitor and manage the performance of local CHCs, using the national standards as its benchmark. However the national standards do not define what priorities and activities your local CHC should carry out on your behalf.

Mae Bwrdd Cynghorau Iechyd Cymuned, am y tro cyntaf, wedi sefydlu cyfres o safonau cenedlaethol ar gyfer gwaith pob CIC yng Nghymru.
Mae gan CIC swydd bwysig i'w gwneud trwy gynrychioli buddiannau’r cleifion a'r cyhoedd yn y ffordd y caiff Gwasanaethau Iechyd Gwladol eu cynllunio a'u darparu yng Nghymru.
Mae Bwrdd CICau, am y tro cyntaf, wedi sefydlu cyfres o safonau cenedlaethol ar gyfer gwaith pob CIC yng Nghymru. Mae'r safonau cenedlaethol wedi eu creu i sefydlu darlun clir o'r ffordd y dylai gweithgareddau mewn CIC dda yn edrych a theimlo yn ymarferol, o safbwynt y cleifion a'r cyhoedd.
Bydd Bwrdd CICau yn monitro a rheoli perfformiad CICau leol yn weithredol, gan ddefnyddio'r safonau cenedlaethol fel ei feincnod. Er hyn, nid yw'r safonau cenedlaethol yn diffinio pa flaenoriaethau a gweithgareddau y dylai eich CIC leol cyflawni ar eich rhan.
