Janet Finch-Saunders AM has raised the following Statement of Opinion on International Older People’s Day.

International Older Persons' Day
This Assembly:
- Notes and replicates calls made in the Welsh Government's Ministerial Statement regarding the International Day of Older people, that loneliness and isolation can have a major impact on health and well-being.
- Notes the work of the Older Peoples Commissioner for Wales, and her November 2015 report findings that 17% of people aged 75-79 and 63% aged over 80 feel lonely.
- Calls for the introduction an Older People's Rights Bill, to extend the rights of older people and introduce a duty on public sector bodies to consult older people when making decisions which affect their lives.

- Yn nodi ac yn ategu galwadau a gaiff eu gwneud yn Natganiad Gweinidogol Llywodraeth Cymru ynghylch Diwrnod Rhyngwladol Pobl Hŷn, y gall unigrwydd ac arwahanrwydd gael effaith fawr ar iechyd a llesiant
- Yn nodi gwaith Comisiynydd Pobl Hŷn Cymru, a chanfyddiadau ei hadroddiad ym mis Tachwedd 2015 fod 17 y cant o bobl rhwng 75 a 79 oed, a 65 y cant o bobl dros 80 yn teimlo'n unig.
- Yn galw am gyflwyno Bill Hawliau Pobl Hŷn, i ymestyn hawliau pobl hŷn a chyflwyno dyletswydd ar gyrff y sector cyhoeddus i ymgynghori â phobl hŷn wrth wneud penderfyniadau sy'n effeithio ar eu bywydau.
