Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of her delight following a recent visit to Ysgol Bro Gwydir, Llanrwst.
The main aim of the school is to give all pupils the opportunity to develop their full potential by nurturing attitudes and sharing experiences that will serve as a strong grounding for adult life.
During the visit, the Member of the Welsh Parliament met with Mrs Bethan Jones, Headteacher, and was introduced to staff and pupils across the site.
Speaking after spending time with pupils and staff, Janet said:
“The headteacher should be extremely proud that she and all the team and pupils are living up to the school motto: ‘Gwneud ein gorau glas’ (try your very best).
“In fact, the staff have succeeded to create and exceptional school which is inspiring young people to become responsible citizens. What better example of this than the school council who asked me questions such as about public transport, community safety, and finance.
“From the hustle and bustle of Auntie Megan’s kitchen to the quiet sanctuary which pupils can turn to so to unwind in tranquillity, the school is a thriving community which all of us should be proud of.
“I congratulate everyone involved in ensuring that the young people of Llanrwst are given a brilliant educational foundation”.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, wedi sôn am ei hapusrwydd yn dilyn ymweliad diweddar ag Ysgol Bro Gwydir, Llanrwst.
Prif nod yr ysgol yw rhoi cyfle i bob disgybl ddatblygu eu llawn botensial drwy feithrin agweddau a rhannu profiadau a fydd yn sylfaen gref i fywyd fel oedolyn.
Yn ystod yr ymweliad, bu'r Aelod Senedd Cymru yn cyfarfod â Mrs Bethan Jones, y Pennaeth, cyn cael ei chyflwyno i staff a disgyblion ar draws y safle.
Meddai Janet ar ôl treulio amser gyda disgyblion a staff:
“Dylai'r pennaeth fod yn hynod falch ei bod hi a'r tîm a'r disgyblion i gyd yn driw i arwyddair yr ysgol: ‘Gwneud ein gorau glas'.
“Yn wir, mae'r staff wedi llwyddo i greu ysgol eithriadol sy'n ysbrydoli pobl ifanc i fod yn ddinasyddion cyfrifol. Pa enghraifft well o hyn na chyngor yr ysgol a ofynnodd gwestiynau i mi am bynciau fel trafnidiaeth gyhoeddus, diogelwch cymunedol a chyllid.
“O fwrlwm cegin Anti Megan i'r noddfa dawel y gall disgyblion droi ati i ymlacio mewn tawelwch, mae'r ysgol yn gymuned ffyniannus y gall pawb fod yn falch ohoni.
“Hoffwn longyfarch pawb sydd wedi bod yn rhan o'r gwaith o sicrhau fod pobl ifanc Llanrwst yn cael sylfaen addysgol wych”.
