Asda has announced the return of its popular Winter Warmer meal deal to support the over-60s this winter. This initiative offers people aged 60 and over the chance to enjoy soup, bread, and unlimited tea or coffee for just £1 in any of Asda’s 212 cafés.

Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, welcomed the return of this initiative, commenting:

“The winter months and the festive period can be a lonely time for many elderly people. This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for people to receive not only a warm meal and drink and a warm place to stay, but also a place to interact with others.

“Having a warm place to go and a social environment will help many elderly people stay healthy and safe this winter. Schemes like this should be praised for all of the wonderful benefits they provide, as well as ensuring that nobody feels alone this winter.

“I would like to thank Asda for renewing this initiative, and I wish them all the best.”

Mae Asda wedi cyhoeddi bod ‘Winter Warmer’, bargen o bryd hynod boblogaidd yr archfarchnad, yn dychwelyd i gefnogi’r rhai dros 60 oed y gaeaf hwn. Fel rhan o’r fargen gall pobl 60 oed a hŷn fwynhau cawl, bara, a chymaint o de neu goffi ag y mynnont am £1 yn unig yn unrhyw un o’r 212 o gaffis Asda.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o’r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yn croesawu gweld y fargen hon yn dychwelyd, gan ddweud:

“Gall misoedd y gaeaf a chyfnod yr ŵyl fod yn amser unig i lawer o bobl oedrannus. Mae’r fenter hon yn gyfle gwych i bobl gael nid yn unig pryd o fwyd poeth a diod boeth a lle cynnes i dreulio amser, ond lle i ymwneud ag eraill hefyd.

“Bydd cael lle cynnes i fynd ac amgylchedd cymdeithasol yn helpu llawer o bobl oedrannus i gadw’n iach ac yn ddiogel y gaeaf hwn. Dylid canmol cynlluniau fel hyn am yr holl fuddion gwych y maen nhw’n eu darparu, yn ogystal â sicrhau nad oes unrhyw un yn teimlo ar ei ben ei hun y gaeaf hwn.

“Hoffwn ddiolch i Asda am adnewyddu’r fenter hon, ac rwy’n dymuno’r gorau iddyn nhw.”
