Aberconwy Assembly Member and Conwy County Councillor, Janet Finch-Saunders AM, has warmly welcomed the appointment of Iwan Davies as Chief Executive of Conwy County Borough Council, which was conducted by an internal recruitment process.
In congratulating Mr Davies, Janet said, “It is wonderful news, that we now have a Chief Executive of Iwan’s calibre in post and crucially at such a time when there are many challenges facing local government”
“I am thinking, in particular, of the Welsh Government’s forthcoming Local Government Measure and the eleventh hour proposal by the Minister for Local Government and Communities to seek to amalgamate the functions of different Councils, backed by powers of enforcement”, she said.
“I very much look forward to working with our new Chief Executive, and wish him well in dealing with the challenges ahead.”
Janet also paid tribute to Ken Finch who has been Acting Chief Executive. “Ken has done an excellent job during a difficult time, and I also look forward to continue working closely with him in the future”.
