Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy is delighted to announce that her Red and White Welsh Collie, Alfie, has been nominated for The Senedd Dog of the Year competition.

Following the successful events held in Westminster and Holyrood, the inaugural Senedd Dog of the Year competition is being held in Britannia Park in Cardiff on May 23.

Organised by The Kennel Club and Dog’s Trust, the contest provides the chance for the organisations to engage with Senedd members and raise awareness of key issues which affect canine welfare.

Voting is now open and can be cast online at: https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/events-and-activities/events/senedd-do…

Commenting on the news Janet said:

“I extremely pleased that The Kennel Club have decided to bring the dog of the year competition to Wales and it is an honour to take part in it this year.

“Alfie is an incredibly sweet companion, always tapping on the door to let us know he wants to come in from the garden and is best friends with my 2 year old boisterous grandson. Alfie is also a sailor and regularly enjoys paddle boarding with my daughter and loves swimming in the sea.

“I would love for Alfie to win Senedd dog of the year so please do go on to The Kennel Club website and vote for Alfie!”
