Last week, properties in Penrhynside were left without a water supply or experienced extremely low water pressure for over 6 days. Following correspondence with Dŵr Cymru, residents have been informed that the issue is believed to be linked to a pump requiring replacement.

Despite repeated requests for information, Dŵr Cymru has been unable to provide a clear timeframe for when the fault will be repaired.

Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Senedd for Bangor, Conwy and Môn, has called on Dŵr Cymru to provide an urgent update on when the fault will be fixed and what support is being offered to residents who are struggling without running water.

Janet said:

"I am deeply concerned by this situation and by reports from residents that it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to manage without a reliable water supply. Access to running water is an essential service.

"It is vital that Dŵr Cymru provides residents with a clear timeframe for when this fault will be repaired and sets out what support is available while they remain without a reliable water supply.

"I wrote to Dŵr Cymru on this issue last week, and have also called on them to investigate the handling of this incident and to ensure that residents are kept fully informed and properly supported during any future disruption."

Yr wythnos diwethaf, gadawyd eiddo yn Ochr Penrhyn heb gyflenwad dŵr neu â phwysedd dŵr isel iawn am dros 6 diwrnod. Yn dilyn gohebiaeth gyda Dŵr Cymru, mae trigolion wedi cael gwybod bod y broblem yn gysylltiedig â phwmp sydd angen ei ailosod.

Er gwaethaf ceisiadau dro ar ôl tro am wybodaeth, nid yw Dŵr Cymru wedi gallu darparu amserlen glir ar gyfer pryd y bydd y nam yn cael ei drwsio.

Mae Janet Finch-Saunders, AS Bangor Conwy a Môn, wedi galw ar Dŵr Cymru i fynd ati ar unwaith i roi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf ynglŷn â phryd y bydd y nam yn cael ei drwsio a pha gymorth sy'n cael ei gynnig i drigolion sy'n cael trafferth heb ddŵr sy’n llifo.

Meddai Janet:

"Rwy'n poeni am y sefyllfa hon a hanesion gan drigolion ei bod yn dod yn fwyfwy anodd iddyn nhw ymdopi heb gyflenwad dŵr dibynadwy. Mae mynediad at ddŵr sy’n llifo yn wasanaeth hanfodol.

"Mae'n hanfodol bod Dŵr Cymru yn darparu amserlen glir i drigolion ar gyfer pryd y bydd y nam hwn yn cael ei drwsio ac yn nodi pa gymorth sydd ar gael tra byddant yn parhau heb gyflenwad dŵr dibynadwy.

"Ysgrifennais at Dŵr Cymru ynghylch y mater hwn yr wythnos diwethaf, ac rydw i hefyd wedi galw arnyn nhw i ymchwilio i'r ffordd yr ymdriniwyd â'r digwyddiad hwn ac i sicrhau bod trigolion yn cael eu hysbysu'n llawn a'u cefnogi'n briodol yn ystod unrhyw darfu yn y dyfodol."
